بِـسْـمِ اللهِ الرَّحـْمـنِ الرَّحِـيـم
In the Name of Allah The All Merciful, The Most Merciful.

الم
1. Alif Lam Meem

ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
2. This writ, no suspicion in it, is guidance to the venerators.

الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
3. The ones who have faith in the unseen and establish the prayers and from what We provisioned them, they spend.

والَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِالآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
4. And, the ones who have faith in what was descended to you and what was descended from before you and of the later (life) they are certain.

أُوْلَـئِكَ عَلَى هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
5. Those are upon guidance from their Lord and those are the prosperous.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ
6. Assuredly (to) the ones who repudiated, it is equal to them whether you warned them or warned them not, they have not faith.

خَتَمَ اللّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهمْ وَعَلَى سَمْعِهِمْ وَعَلَى أَبْصَارِهِمْ غِشَاوَةٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عظِيمٌ
7. Allah sealed over their cores and over their hearing, and over their sight is a covering; and for them is grand torment.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللّهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
8. And from humanity are (some) who say, "We have faith in Allah and in The Last Day" and not are they faithful.

يُخَادِعُونَ اللّهَ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلاَّ أَنفُسَهُم وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
9. They set to trick Allah and the ones who have faith and they trick not but themselves, yet not are they aware.

فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ اللّهُ مَرَضاً وَلَهُم عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْذِبُونَ
10. In their cores is sickness so increased them did Allah (in) sickness, and for them is painful torment for that they were ever lying.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ قَالُواْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ
11. And when it is said to them, "Corrupt not on Earth" they say, "In fact, we are rectifiers."

أَلا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَـكِن لاَّ يَشْعُرُونَ
12. Instead, assuredly it is they who are the corrupt ones, yet not are they aware.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُواْ كَمَا آمَنَ النَّاسُ قَالُواْ أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَا آمَنَ السُّفَهَاء أَلا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ السُّفَهَاء وَلَـكِن لاَّ يَعْلَمُونَ
13. And when it is said to them, "Have faith as had faith did the people," they say, "Us have faith as had faith did the fools?" Instead, assuredly it is they who are the fools, yet they know not.

وَإِذَا لَقُواْ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ قَالُواْ آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْاْ إِلَى شَيَاطِينِهِمْ قَالُواْ إِنَّا مَعَكْمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِئُونَ
14. And when they meet the ones who have faith they say, "We have faith," and when they vacate to their devils they say, "Assuredly we are with you, in fact we are mockers."

اللّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَيَمُدُّهُمْ فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
15. Allah mocks them and extends (to) them, in their tyranny they roam.

أُوْلَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرُوُاْ الضَّلاَلَةَ بِالْهُدَى فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَارَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُهْتَدِينَ
16. Those are the ones who bartered (for) the deviation with the guidance, so profited not did their trade and not were they ever guided.

 مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي اسْتَوْقَدَ نَاراً فَلَمَّا أَضَاءتْ مَا حَوْلَهُ ذَهَبَ اللّهُ بِنُورِهِمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتٍ لاَّ يُبْصِرُونَ
17. Their simile is like the simile of the one who ignited a fire then when it illuminated what was around him Allah went with their light and left them in darknesses, they sight not.

صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لاَ يَرْجِعُونَ
18. Deaf, dumb, blind; thus they return not.

أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاء فِيهِ ظُلُمَاتٌ وَرَعْدٌ وَبَرْقٌ يَجْعَلُونَ أَصْابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِم مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ واللّهُ مُحِيطٌ بِالْكافِرِينَ
19. Or like storm-clouds from the sky, in them is darkness and thunder and lightening; they put their fingers in their ears from the thunderbolts, wary of death, and Allah is encompassing the repudiators.

يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ كُلَّمَا أَضَاء لَهُم مَّشَوْاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُواْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّه عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
20. The lightening almost snatches their sight; whenever it illuminates for them they walk in it and when it darkens over them they halt.  And if Allah willed He would go with their hearing and sight, assuredly Allah is over everything most able.
