بِـسْـمِ اللهِ الرَّحـْمـنِ الرَّحِـيـم
In the Name of Allah The All Merciful, The Most Merciful.

 اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مَّعْرِضُونَ
1. Neared to humanity did their account while they were in oblivion, averting.

مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مَّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
2. Approaches them not does any remembrance from their Lord but (that) they listen to it while they are playing.

لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّواْ النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ هَلْ هَذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
3. Distracted are their cores; and concealed the communion did the ones who oppressed, "Is this but a human like you? Do you approach the sorcery while you sight?"

قَالَ رَبِّي يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِي السَّمَاء وَالأَرْضِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
4. He said, "My Lord knows (all) the speech in the heaven and Earth, and He is The Most Hearing, The Most Knowledgeable."

بَلْ قَالُواْ أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلاَمٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الأَوَّلُونَ
5. Rather, they said, "A jumble of dreams!  Rather, he contrived it.  Rather, he is a poet, so let him bring us a sign as sent were the earlier (ones)."

مَا آمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
6. Had not faith before them did any town We destroyed... so are they to have faith?

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلاَّ رِجَالاً نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ فَاسْأَلُواْ أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ
7. And We sent not before you except men (who) We inspired unto them, so ask the Holders of The Remembrance if you know not.

وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَدًا لَّا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِدِينَ
8. And not did We make them bodies (which) eat no food, and not are they ever eternal.

ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَاهُمُ الْوَعْدَ فَأَنجَيْنَاهُمْ وَمَن نَّشَاء وَأَهْلَكْنَا الْمُسْرِفِينَ
9.  Then We confirmed for them the promise; so We saved them, and whoever We willed, and destroyed the excessive (ones).

لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
10. We have truly descended unto you a writ, in it is your remembrance, so are you not mindful?

وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ
11. And how many have We snapped of villages (that) were ever oppressive and constructed after them other people?

فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
12. So when they have felt Our toughness, there they are from it running.

لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُوا إِلَى مَا أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْأَلُونَ
13. Run not, and return to what you were ever luxuriated in, and your dwellings, so you might be questioned.

قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
14. They said, "Woe to us, assuredly we were ever oppressors."

فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَاهُمْ حَتَّى جَعَلْنَاهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَامِدِينَ
15. So that abated not as their call until We made them (as) a stifled harvest.

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ
16. And We created not the heaven and Earth and what is between them as Players.

لَوْ أَرَدْنَا أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَّاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا إِن كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ
17. If We wanted to take a distraction We would take it from Our vicinity, if We were ever (so) Doers.

بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
18. Rather, We hurl the right upon the false so it stamps it, then there it is erased;  and woe to you for what you describe.

وَلَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ عِندَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ
19. And unto Him is whoever is in the heavens and Earth;  and those at Him are not arrogant from worshipping Him, and not do they weary.

يُسَبِّحُونَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ
20. They extol night and day, and not do they languish.
