(26) As-Shu'araa: The Poets

سورة الشعراء

وَالَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
81. "And the One who deadens me then vivifies me."

وَالَّذِي أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِي خَطِيئَتِي يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
82. "And the One who I covet that He forgives for me, my wrongs (on) the Day of Requital."

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
83. "My Lord, bestow upon me judiciousness and append me to the righteous."

وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ
84. "And make for me a tongue of truth among the later."

وَاجْعَلْنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ
85. "And make me among the heirs of the Garden of Comforts."

وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ
86. "And forgive my father, assuredly he was ever from the deviated."

وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
87. "And disgrace me not, the day they are dispatched."

يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
88. "The day, benefits not does wealth nor children."

إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
89. "Except whoever approaches Allah with an intact core."

وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
90. And made close was the Garden to the venerators.

وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
91. And made emerged was Hell to the strayers.

وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
92. And said to them is, "Where is what you were ever worshipping..."

مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
93. "...outside of Allah? Do they champion you or champion themselves?"

فَكُبْكِبُوا فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُونَ
94. So they were tumbled into it, they and the strayers...

وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
95. ...and the troops of Iblis, all together.

قَالُوا وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
96. They said, while they were in it contesting...

تَاللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
97. "By Allah, assuredly we were surely in manifest deviation..."

إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
98. "...that we equated you with the Lord of the worlds."

وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلَّا الْمُجْرِمُونَ
99. "And deviated us did naught but the malefactors."

فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَافِعِينَ
100. "So not for us are there any intercessors..."

وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ
101. "...nor any warm comrade."
