The Befalling |

وَأَصْحَابُ
الشِّمَالِ
مَا
أَصْحَابُ
الشِّمَالِ
41. And the Companions of the Left (side), what are the
Companions of the Left (side)?
فِي
سَمُومٍ
وَحَمِيمٍ
42. Amid Simoom and scalding water,
وَظِلٍّ
مِّن
يَحْمُومٍ
43. And the shade of smoke-clouds...
لَّا
بَارِدٍ
وَلَا
كَرِيمٍ
44. ...not cool nor gracious.
إِنَّهُمْ
كَانُوا
قَبْلَ
ذَلِكَ
مُتْرَفِينَ
45. Assuredly they were before this ever luxuriant.
وَكَانُوا
يُصِرُّونَ
عَلَى
الْحِنثِ
الْعَظِيمِ
46. And they were insisting on the Grand Renege.
وَكَانُوا
يَقُولُونَ
أَئِذَا
مِتْنَا
وَكُنَّا
تُرَابًا
وَعِظَامًا
أَئِنَّا
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
47. And they used to say, "Is it if we died and were soil
and bones, are we (then) dispatched?"
أَوَ
آبَاؤُنَا
الْأَوَّلُونَ
48. "And our earlier fathers?"
قُلْ
إِنَّ
الْأَوَّلِينَ
وَالْآخِرِينَ
49. Say: "Assuredly the earlier ones and the later ones...
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ
إِلَى
مِيقَاتِ
يَوْمٍ
مَّعْلُومٍ
50. ...are surely gathered to an appointment, a day known."
ثُمَّ
إِنَّكُمْ
أَيُّهَا
الضَّالُّونَ
الْمُكَذِّبُونَ
51. Then assuredly you are, O you deviant beliers...
لَآكِلُونَ
مِن
شَجَرٍ
مِّن
زَقُّومٍ
52. ...surely eating from the Tree of Zachun.
فَمَالِؤُونَ
مِنْهَا
الْبُطُونَ
53. So you will fill from it the bellies,
فَشَارِبُونَ
عَلَيْهِ
مِنَ
الْحَمِيمِ
54. ...then you drink over it from the scalding water.
فَشَارِبُونَ
شُرْبَ
الْهِيمِ
55. So you drink, the drink of the insatiable.
هَذَا
نُزُلُهُمْ
يَوْمَ
الدِّينِ
56. This is their hostel, the Day of Requital.
نَحْنُ
خَلَقْنَاكُمْ
فَلَوْلَا
تُصَدِّقُونَ
57. We have created you, so you should have faith.
أَفَرَأَيْتُم
مَّا
تُمْنُونَ
58. Have you seen what you ejaculate?
أَأَنتُمْ
تَخْلُقُونَهُ
أَمْ
نَحْنُ
الْخَالِقُونَ
59. Is it you who creates him, or are We the Creators?
