And surely We have truly provided you seven of the reiterations, and the Grand Quran. - Surat Al-Hijr (v. 87)

(56) Al-Waqi'a: The Befalling

سورة الواقعة

نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
60. We evaluated amid you Death, and not are We advanced upon...

عَلَى أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
61. ...in substituting like you and constructing you in what you know not.

وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَى فَلَوْلَا تَذكَّرُونَ
62. And you have truly known the earlier construct, so you should remember.

أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
63. Have you see what you till?

أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ
64. Is it you who plants it, or are We the Planters?

لَوْ نَشَاء لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
65. If We will, We surely make it wreckage; so you persist (in) jesting...

إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
66. ..."Assuredly, we are surely penalized."

بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
67. ..."Rather, we are deprived."

أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاء الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ
68. Have you seen the water that you drink?

أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ
69. Is it you who descended it from the rain-clouds, or are We the Descenders?

لَوْ نَشَاء جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ
70. If We will, We make it brackish; so you should thank.

أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ
71. Do you see the fire that you kindle?

أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِؤُونَ
72. Is it you who constructed its tree, or are We the Constructors?

نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ
73. We made it a reminder, and gear for the strengthless.

فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
74. So extol in the Name of your Lord, The Grand.

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ
75. So no, I swear by the locations of the stars,

وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
76. ...and assuredly it is an oath, if you know, grand.

إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ
77. Assuredly it is a Quran gracious,

فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ
78. ...in a writ, cached.

لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ
79. Touches it none but the purified,

تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
80. ...a descension from the Lord of the worlds.
